Welcome to the Irish Design House's Sewing School and Summer Camp. We have been teaching sewing and pattern drafting classes here at the store's studio for quite some time, but this will be our very first summer to host our summer camps. We have taught this same camp while we lived in Ireland but we're excited to host it this summer in Toronto. Classes will be taught by Sinéad. A maximum of 10 students per day.
There will be select days over the course of the summer that will be allocated to the camps. There are two age groups - girls & boys aded 6-10 and girls & boys aged 11-14. No experience is necessary and each student will work at his or her own pace. This is a really fun day to allow students explore their creativity and create a t-shirt design that they can take home at the end of the day. All materials and blank t-shirts are provided. All you need is a packed lunch.
8:45am - 9am - arrive at the Irish Design House
9am - 10am - introductions and find a work space. We will then chat a little about what we will be doing over the course of the day. We will all colour and draw some designs on paper until 10am.
10am - 11am - learn about hand sewing. Practice what we learn.
11am - 12pm - start designing what our final t-shirt might look like. Choose from all the tshirts and materials provided.
